Advent - Christmas markets in South Tyrol
Advent, the most quiet time of the year
Lovely decorations at candlelight, but especially the delicious scent of homemade Christmas biscuits conveys a feeling of warmth and cosiness. The charm of the Advent on the romantic Christmas markets is an invitation for the many visitors to buy little souvenirs, typically local products and Christmas presents at the festive Christmas market stalls. All the South Tyrolean Christmas markets can be comfortably reached by car from our house. In the following South Tyrolean towns there are the Christmas markets from November to the beginning of January:
Selva/Wolkenstein, Ortisei, S. Cristina in Val Gardena, Bressanone, Bolzano, Merano, Brunico and Vipiteno
Selva Val Gardena is getting ready for a very special Christmas: This Christmas in Selva, from the 2th of December until the 8th of January, an old fashioned cable car of miniature wooden cabins, shining with fairy lights, can be found hanging above a magical Christmas village. A typical mountain hamlet will be brought to life with traditional huts of stone and rustic wood, like those of times gone by.
Also, each day of Christmas, along the main street of Selva, one window of the Advent calendar will be illuminated.
